Easter Celebrations at Collier’s Croft

Easter Celebrations at Collier’s Croft

April has gone by so fast, here at Colliers we have made the most of all the sunny days we have had this month so some of our planned activities were changed around to accommodate the beautiful weather and making sure our residents had lots of fresh air and Vitamin D.

Easter weekend was filled with lots of fun and games, from egg and spoon races to our Easter Bonnet parade on all floors, Hannah and Carly went round with a trolley full of Easter Eggs and the lovely Easter bags that St Marks Church made for all the residents and staff.

Monday the 12th was international Day of Human Space Flight, the residents enjoyed a space quiz and wordsearch whilst Carly told some fun facts about Human space flight and the first Human spacewalk.

Midweek took us to the Theatre to see CATS the Musical, virtually of course. All the residents on the top floor really engaged in the musical and it was smiles all around the room throughout.

Our residents have kept very active throughout this month, if the weather has been a little off we have stuck to our YouTube exercise class but if the weather has permitted us to going outside we have made the most of it and gone walking around the gardens, even doing some stretches (sat on the patio chairs sunbathing he he)

St Georges Day was celebrated with our residents reminiscing and getting crafty, making our own shields and swords ready for battle. Gaynor made 3 St Georges day Flag cakes for each floor they looked amazing.

This month we have introduced our Aromatherapy sessions, where Hannah or Carly will gather residents in the quiet rooms on each floor, turn off all the lights and put on our sensory lights and offer therapeutic hand massages to anyone who wants them, we spray the room with Lavender spray and listen to Raindrop’s relaxation music.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce to the team, Georgina, who will be joining the Activity team along side Hannah & Carly, to give the residents more choice and to bring in fresh new ideas.
